About
The Church Divinity School of the Pacific (CDSP) is best known as the only Episcopal seminary located in the western United States, serving as a primary center for theological education, clergy preparation, and lay leadership. Situated in Berkeley, California, the school offers rigorous theological degree and certificate programs, operating both hybrid residential cohorts and fully online programs tailored for working adults and local ministry leaders. The student experience is grounded in regular worship and close-knit community life, greatly enriched by cross-registration access and shared resources through the neighboring Graduate Theological Union and the University of California, Berkeley. A distinctive hallmark of CDSP is its tuition-free program for qualifying students seeking ordained Episcopal ministry, paired with an institutional commitment to social justice, contextual learning, and ministry in multicultural environments.
