About

Founded in 1829 as the first college in the state to award a degree, Illinois College is a historic liberal arts institution recognized for robust programs in nursing, pre-health sciences, biology, education, and business. Life on "the Hilltop" offers a close-knit, highly residential environment where nearly half the student body competes in NCAA Division III athletics and students benefit from individualized faculty mentorship. The college sets itself apart through its signature BreakAway program, which offers funded, short-term study abroad and experiential learning trips, backed by a four-year graduation guarantee that emphasizes career readiness.
