42 FR

About

Located in Paris, France, 42 is an innovative, tuition-free computer programming school renowned for its radical peer-to-peer pedagogical model that operates entirely without professors, traditional classrooms, or lectures. Its curriculum focuses heavily on software engineering, coding, and computer science, empowering students to learn through hands-on project-based collaboration and self-paced practical challenges. The international student experience here is remarkably diverse and immersive, drawing ambitious tech talent from around the globe into a vibrant, 24/7 campus culture where English and French are widely spoken. Although it does not grant traditional academic degrees, the institution features a dedicated international administrative team and a global network of partner campuses that facilitate worldwide mobility and peer networking. What sets 42 apart is its unique admissions process known as "The Piscine," a grueling four-week practical coding immersion that tests a candidate's motivation, logic, and ability to learn under pressure rather than prior academic credentials.
