About
Located in Helsinki, Finland, the Theatre Academy Finland operates as a specialized institution renowned for its advanced training in acting, dance, directing, dramaturgy, and lighting and sound design. As part of the University of the Arts Helsinki, the academy provides rigorous conservatory-style education where artistic practice and critical research deeply intersect. While much of the foundational curriculum is conducted in Finnish or Swedish, the institution increasingly offers master's-level courses and international exchange opportunities taught in English, attracting global artists and scholars. International students benefit from a vibrant, multicultural creative community supported by the central Uniarts Helsinki international mobility services, which assist with admissions, housing, and integration. A particularly distinctive characteristic of the academy is its dedicated performance venues and cutting-edge production studios, which allow students to regularly present experimental works to the public as an integral part of their degree requirements.
