About
Located in Duque de Caxias, Brazil, the Universidade do Grande Rio is widely recognized for its strong emphasis on healthcare education, particularly medicine, dentistry, and nursing, alongside robust programs in business and engineering. The university features modern clinical facilities and research centers that provide hands-on training, heavily integrating community outreach into its curriculum. For international students, the institution offers dedicated administrative support through its international relations office, which helps navigate enrollment, Portuguese language acquisition, and cultural adaptation. A distinctive characteristic of the university is its deeply embedded community health model, where students gain practical experience by working directly within local public health networks in the Baixada Fluminense region. While most undergraduate degrees are taught in Portuguese, visiting students can participate in structured exchange programs and clinical rotations tailored to international learners.
