Background

The University of Toronto Mississauga (U of T Mississauga, UTM, or Mississauga Campus) is one of the three campuses of the University of Toronto and its second-largest academic division, located in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. It is set upon 225 acres (91 ha) of protected forest along the valley of the Credit River, approximately 33 kilometres west of the St. George campus in downtown Toronto. Established in 1967 as Erindale College, a constituent college in the Faculty of Arts and Science, it adopted its present name in 1998 and became its own academic division in 2003 following significant growth in student enrolment. The campus has since expanded to become the University of Toronto's second-largest division overall and its second-largest campus in terms of both student enrolment and land area, the other two of which are the St. George and Scarborough campuses.
