The Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis (BGSP) in Brookline, Massachusetts, is one of the nation's only accredited, independent institutions entirely dedicated to the study and clinical application of psychoanalysis. The school is highly regarded for its Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and its Doctor of Psychoanalysis (Psya.D.) programs, both of which prepare students for clinical licensure and deep therapeutic practice. Students experience an intimate, highly collaborative learning environment where they gain hands-on experience treating patients at the school’s on-site community therapy center. Distinctively, BGSP integrates personal analysis into its curriculum, requiring students to undergo their own psychoanalytic treatment to foster the deep self-awareness crucial for understanding others.
