Lake Superior State University (LSSU) is best known for its hands-on, career-focused education and its picturesque location on the international border in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The university boasts premier programs in fisheries and wildlife management, robotics engineering technology, and criminal justice, as well as the nation’s first accredited undergraduate degree in cannabis chemistry. Student life is tight-knit and shaped by the rugged outdoors, offering easy access to winter sports, Great Lakes research, and the high-energy NCAA Division I Men's ice hockey team. Setting LSSU apart is its Center for Freshwater Research and Education, which provides undergraduates with rare, immediate access to vital Great Lakes conservation fieldwork right on the St. Marys River.
