About
Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School (CRCDS) is historically renowned for its profound legacy in the civil rights movement and its progressive Christian theology, most notably as the alma mater of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The institution focuses exclusively on graduate theological education, offering rigorous Master of Divinity, Master of Arts, and Doctor of Ministry programs that emphasize prophetic preaching, peace and justice studies, and ecumenical engagement. The student culture is collaborative, diverse, and deeply intentional, attracting non-traditional, socially conscious learners who often balance their studies with community activism and pastoral work. Distinctively, CRCDS operates as an intentionally hybrid learning community based in Rochester’s historic Neighborhood of the Arts, seamlessly blending intensive online coursework with rich, on-campus contextual learning designed for 21st-century ministry.
