About

Elmira College is a historic liberal arts institution recognized for its highly regarded programs in nursing, education, and business, as well as its legacy as the first college for women to offer a curriculum equivalent in rigor to men’s colleges. The college stands out for its distinctive academic calendar featuring "Term III," a focused six-week spring term dedicated to intensive internships, research, or study abroad, as well as its stewardship of the Center for Mark Twain Studies, which includes the author's original octagonal study on campus. Student life is close-knit and rich with long-standing traditions like Mountain Day, supported by active NCAA Division III athletics and a collaborative, community-focused campus environment.
