Voorhees University is a private, faith-based Historically Black University (HBCU) affiliated with the Episcopal Church, best known for cultivating leadership through strong academic programs in business administration, criminal justice, biology, and cybersecurity. Founded in 1897 by Elizabeth Evelyn Wright—a mentee of Booker T. Washington—it holds the distinction of being the first HBCU founded by an African American woman.
