Founded in 1866, Fisk University is a historic HBCU in Nashville, Tennessee, recognized for its rigorous liberal arts foundation and particularly strong programs in the natural sciences, business administration, and psychology. The university is nationally distinctive for its leadership in STEM education, famously preparing a high percentage of Black scholars for doctoral degrees through initiatives like the acclaimed Fisk-Vanderbilt Master's-to-PhD Bridge Program. Campus life is close-knit, culturally vibrant, and deeply rooted in heritage and social justice, famously enriched by the historic, Grammy Award-winning Fisk Jubilee Singers and the world-class Alfred Stieglitz art collection housed in the Carl Van Vechten Gallery.
