About

Founded in 1852 as the oldest Catholic university in the American Southwest, St. Mary’s University is a private Marianist institution best known for its mission of ethical leadership and community service. Academically, the university is anchored by the renowned St. Mary's University School of Law—the only Catholic law school in Texas—as well as highly regarded undergraduate programs in business, engineering, and pre-health professions. Campus culture is defined by a supportive, tight-knit "family spirit" and a strong commitment to social justice, fostered through active student organizations, NCAA Division II Rattler athletics, and extensive service-learning projects. As a designated Hispanic-Serving Institution located in vibrant San Antonio, St. Mary’s uniquely blends rich cultural heritage with direct access to professional internships and research opportunities.
